Anime Adventures best units depend on the mode, and the published lists agree more than you might expect. Every pick below comes from the units that four lists put in S or A most often (counted on the Anime Adventures tier list), plus what the community wiki says each unit does in this Roblox tower defense. We tested nothing in game, the wiki is partly outdated, and unit numbers are not exact.
Anime Adventures best units for infinite mode
These are the best infinite mode units by agreement: each is in S or A on at least three of the four infinite lists. Shinobi (Eternal), Dracula (Unholy King) and Supreme Being (Sovereign) are S on all four. See the Anime Adventures infinite mode guide for what that mode pays.

Both Griffin forms come from Griffin (Ascension): the wiki says Darkness sacrifices 100k yen of non-BUFF units and Reincarnation 100k yen of BUFF-tag units. Vego (Mage II), Gas (Toxic) and Izo (Samurai) also reach S or A on three lists. The cap is how many copies you can place; the Anime Adventures units list shows it for each unit.
Anime Adventures best units for story and early game
The Anime Adventures best units for story start with Shinobi (Eternal), S on all four lists. Dracula (Unholy King) and Menace (Terror) are S on three and A on one, and Vego (Mage II), Carrot (Ultra) and Death Ninja (Immortal Butcher) are S on every list that prints them. The wiki calls Vego and Dracula story and raid meta units. One story list is Pocket Tactics' casual list, which also covers raids.
The data does not cover beginners. Every pick above is an evolved Mythic or Secret unit, and the wiki's Anime Adventures summon rates are Rare 81.9%, Epic 16%, Legendary 2% and Mythic 0.25%, with Secret about 1 in 400,000, so most players will not have them early. We found no list that ranks early-game or free units, so we name no best beginner unit. The one cheap pick on the lists is Commander, a Legendary support in S on three story lists, with a placement cost of about 775 yen. Our Anime Adventures beginner guide covers the first hours.

Supports buff, slow or stop enemies instead of dealing much damage. The Fandom lists rank them in their own bucket. Counts are how many of the four lists per mode put the unit in S or A.

Wenda is printed on only two lists, so its low count reflects coverage, not a low rating. The community wiki says the Griffin (Reincarnation) buff stacks with Commander and Elfy (Sylph), which is why the three often appear together. For bleed teams, Bloodcry (Bloodfallen) is listed with a x5 Bleed Amplification.
How to pick units for your team
- Ground DPS: Shinobi, Dracula, Death Ninja, Menace and Vego fill the path. Most cap at 3 copies; a few, such as Gas (Toxic), cap at 4.
- Hill or hybrid: Fused Hero, Griffin (Darkness) and Supreme Being cover high ground. Supreme Being allows one copy.
- Support: add a buffer, then a slow or stop. Pair bleed damage dealers with Blood, and pair the Griffin buff with Commander and Elfy.
- Economy: Bulby and C.E.O. are the wiki's farm units. Older lists put Bulby in S or Meta (Destructoid, The Escapist) or A (Beebom), and C.E.O. in B or C, but those are 2024 and 2025 lists.
Pick Anime Adventures best units by role, not rank alone, because caps stop you stacking one unit. Units evolve with an evolution item plus unit-specific requirements, and a Legendary-to-Mythic evolution keeps the trait. Update 19 added Limit Break, where each limit-broken unit you equip adds 5% team damage. Fused Hero needs Carrot (Ultra) and Vego (Mage II), each at upgrade 7.
The Fandom and Pocket Tactics lists ignore traits. A new unit has a 1% chance to roll one, and the Unique trait gives about four times damage but limits you to one placement of that unit. Check Anime Adventures traits, then roll in the Anime Adventures trait reroll simulator first. Gems for summons come from Anime Adventures codes and play, and strong Limited units can be swapped in Anime Adventures trading.

What are the best units for beginners in Anime Adventures?
The lists do not say. They rank evolved Mythic and Secret units, and none we read gives a ranking for early or free units. The cheapest strong pick they show is Commander, a Legendary support, but we have not tested it as a starter.
Which support is best?
Griffin (Reincarnation) has the biggest buff, a global +100%, but allows only one copy. Elfy (Sylph) and Commander allow six and are in S or A on all four infinite lists. Reliable Student (Echoes) is the slow pick, in S or A on two infinite lists and three story lists.
Do the best units change with updates?
Yes. The community wiki logs nothing after Update 20.4.1 from around April 2025, and Update 21 is only reported as coming with no date. Check Anime Adventures updates and is Anime Adventures back for the latest status before you spend gems.
